About Care Home Jobs

Working in a care home isn’t just about elderly care. Depending on the kind of home you’ll be working in you will be looking after people with learning difficulties, or children, or dementia sufferers or the elderly.

As well as the type of care, the location for care is varied too.

Residential care doesn’t usually provide nursing assistance for specific needs, whereas a nursing home will offer continual nursing help from qualified, registered general nurses.

Specialist nursing home will offer dementia care (such as for those suffering from Alzheimers) from RMNs.

Within these areas nursing staff can specialise into other areas such as respite care, or palliative care – of the young and old.

The areas of work available in care homes require a broad mix of skilled, trained and qualified staff, managers and assistants.
